If your Alexa device won’t connect to Wi-Fi, it can be caused by several common issues such as weak signals, incorrect passwords, outdated software, or router compatibility problems. The first step is to ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and working properly with other devices. Restart your modem and router, as this often resolves temporary connectivity glitches. Next, check that your Alexa device is within a reasonable range of the Wi-Fi router and isn’t blocked by walls or electronic interference. Open the Alexa app, go to Devices, select your Echo device, and tap Change under Wi-Fi Network to reconnect it. Ensure you're selecting the correct network and entering the right password. If the device still won’t connect, perform a soft reset by unplugging the Alexa device for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. If that doesn’t help, try a factory reset and set it up again from scratch. Also, make sure your router isn’t using a frequency (like 5 GHz) that your Alexa model doesn’t support—older Echo devices may only support 2.4 GHz. Lastly, ensure your router’s firmware is up to date and that it’s not blocking new connections via MAC filtering. If the problem persists, Amazon’s customer service or technical support within the Alexa app can provide additional help.
